Wines from Moldova were widely represented at the Het Wijn Festijn festival in Utrecht (Netherlands)
According to the National Office of Vine and Wine, the event took place from July 25 to 27 at the historic Domplein square. Festival guests were able to discover not only new wines, but also the authentic wine culture of Moldova. Each glass of wine was a pleasant experience – full of flavor, balance, and individuality. Among the local favorites were Moldovan white wines—Feteasca Albă, Feteasca Regală, and Alb de Onițcani—as well as modern interpretations from various local wineries. The combination of tradition and innovation sparked interest. Among Moldovan red wines, Rara Neagră, Feteasca Neagră and blends with popular international varieties – rounded, balanced wines with a deep flavor. Rosé wines made from Pinot Noir, Feteasca Neagră or blends with Rara Neagră “brought freshness and balance, especially during the sunny hours.” The presentation of Moldovan wines in Utrecht took place ahead of the match between FC Utrecht and FC Sheriff (Tiraspol) scheduled for July 31, and many fans from the Netherlands discovered wines from Moldova. As noted by the National Office of Vine and Wine (ONVV), the phrase “Wine of Moldova” took on new meaning over the course of three days. For Moldovan producers, such festivals are more than just advertising; they are “moments when wine becomes a worthy ambassador of history and passion.” “Moldova allows wine to tell stories—with patience, elegance, and a touch of refined modesty,” emphasizes the NBVV. // 31.07.2025 — InfoMarket
