Efes Moldova has invested over €3 million in modernizing its production facilities to increase production, improve process efficiency, and reduce its environmental impact

This was announced by Efes Moldova CEO Alphan Akpece at the presentation of Efes Moldova's updated production lines, announcing the completion of this major new investment project to modernize the company's production lines. This project is important both for the company and for the development of the Moldovan brewing industry. With its implementation, Efes Moldova has confirmed its commitment to the development of the Moldovan brewing industry and the national economy. As noted, Efes Moldova's recent investments totaling over €3 million were aimed at increasing production capacity, improving process efficiency, and reducing its environmental impact. Specifically, the company invested €2.1 million in a new Krones PET filling and labeling line. This increased productivity by 15% to 12,000 bottles per hour, ensuring consistently high product quality. €450,000 was invested in expanding the KEG line, increasing capacity from 120 to 180 kegs per hour in response to growing market demand. Additionally, a state-of-the-art Swiss-made filter costing approximately €565,000 was installed, optimizing the filtration process and reducing environmental impact. Efes Moldova annually introduces new products tailored to consumer preferences. In 2025 alone, the company contributed approximately $33 million to the state budget in taxes and excise duties. The CEO of Efes Moldova noted that over the past five years, the company has achieved tangible results in environmental protection. Greenhouse gas emissions have decreased from 11.56 kg to 9.91 kg CO₂ equivalent per hectolitre. For these achievements, the company has been awarded three Green Awards. As part of the Prietenește corporate social responsibility program, the company annually invests approximately 1.5 million lei in projects supporting tourism, women's entrepreneurship, and local culture. Efes Moldova is also actively involved in the development of the Deposit for Packaging (SDA) system, an important step toward creating a circular economy in Moldova. With a team of over 360 employees, Efes Moldova is recognized as one of the most attractive employers in the industry, being the only manufacturer in this category in the country. The share capital of Efes Vitanta Moldova Brewery amounts to 39.99 million lei. The company is owned by Efes Breweries International B.V., which holds 96.868% of the shares. Since 2003, Efes Vitanta Moldova Brewery has been part of the international company Efes Beverage Group – one of the largest brewing companies in Europe, which produces and supplies beer, malt, and soft drinks to the markets of Turkey, Russia, other CIS countries, and Southeastern Europe. In early 2003, Efes Breweries International B.V., owned by the Turkish holding company Anadolu Efes, acquired a 96.5% stake in the Chisinau-based Vitanta Intravest brewery for $12 million. The brewery was subsequently renamed Efes Vitanta Moldova Brewery and is the largest producer of beer and soft drinks in Moldova, partnering with global beer producers ABInBev, Asahi, Molson Coors, and Oetеinger, representing their brands in Moldova. It was previously reported that, following the merger of Efes Moldova with the Anadolu Efes group, investments totaling approximately $163 million were made between 2003 and 2022 to purchase the necessary equipment and promote products in both local and international markets.// 23.04.2026 — InfoMarket.
