Another 59 Moldovan entrepreneurs will receive grants totaling 25 million lei under several support programs

The money was provided by the European Union, the World Bank and the Moldovan government. In particular, 35 beneficiaries will receive 14.2 million lei from the European Union, 22 companies - 9.8 million lei from the Moldovan government and 2 companies - 0.64 million lei from the World Bank. The biggest investments will go to the development of the industrial sector, about 30% of the beneficiaries will use the grant aid for the development of services, and 20% are engaged in agriculture and will use the money received for re-technologization and increasing the ecological efficiency of the business. The grants are distributed through a number of programs managed by the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), including the Women's Entrepreneurship Support Program, START for Youth Program, PARE 1+2 Program, SME Digital Transformation Program, SME Re-technology and Energy Efficiency Program, SME Greening Program and SME Export Competitiveness and Internationalization Program. Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba said at the event that this year alone, more than 1,500 entrepreneurs have benefited from the programmes managed by ODA with the support of the government and external partners. EU Ambassador to Moldova Janis Mazeiks said that the assistance to entrepreneurs is a priority for Moldova, and the EU will further back Moldova in this respect. ODA Director Vadim Codreanu said that the number of entrepreneurs who benefit from the support of the state and development partners is increasing.
