This was discussed during a meeting that the country's President Maia Sandu held with the Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco, discussing with her the continuation of the implementation of a plan to improve medical services throughout the country. The head of state noted that investments amounting to about 3 billion lei were made in the country's hospitals, reconstruction and overhaul of more than 60 departments of various profiles, 9 maternity hospitals, 11 intensive care units, equipping them with important equipment, including dozens of computerized tomographs, as well as distribution of 120 ambulances are having an effect, and now our doctors can save more lives. According to Maia Sandu, an important topic for the people she talks to when she travels to villages is reimbursed and cheaper medicines: sometimes citizens do not know that a number of medicines have become free, while others are reimbursed up to 80%. “We agreed with Madam Minister to communicate more on this topic,” said Maia Sandu. The head of state called on all citizens to ask family doctors for a list of reimbursed medications and doctors to inform people as clearly as possible that part of the cost of medications is paid by the state. The President also noted that people need to know about the E-Rețeta electronic system, which allows chronically ill patients to quickly receive compensated medications and necessary medical products. Maia Sandu expressed confidence that the “Pharmacy in your village” program will be accelerated so that residents have access to medicines without having to travel long distances. According to her, 16 pharmacies have already been opened, another 20 have received a license, in total, pharmacies will be opened in 150 villages, “in which there have never been pharmacies”. // 04.07.2024 — InfoMarket
