The construction of the bypass road in Vulcanesti and the repair of the R26 Bender-Causeni-Cimislia road will be completed by the beginning of 2026.
This was stated by the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu after inspecting the progress of the relevant road works. According to him, in particular, work is underway in Vulcanesti to build a bypass road of 8.6 km long. More than 12 thousand residents are looking forward to this road, which will relieve the city of heavy traffic along it, and there will be less dust, noise and more safety for residents. The Vulcanesti bypass will provide faster and safer access to border crossing points from Giurgiulesti to Ukraine (Giurgiulesti-Reni) and Romania (Giurgiulesti-Galati). On the R26 Bender-Causeni-Cimislia road, repair work has been ongoing since March in two sections, and will soon begin in the third. In total, 22.5 km of road and 4 bridges will be repaired. In addition to more than 8 thousand direct beneficiaries of the road from the villages of Salcuta and Zaim, it is an important corridor for the transit of goods from Ukraine to the port of Giurgiulesti. The road connects the border checkpoints in Tudora and Palanca, as well as Stefan Voda, Anenii Noi, Causeni districts with the southern part of the country: Comrat, Vulcanesti and Giurgiulesti port. Andrei Spinu talked with the contractors, who assured him that by the beginning of 2026, two more good, European roads will be ready in Moldova. The construction of the bypass road in Vulcanesti is being carried out by the Ukrainian company Automagistral South (LLC Automagistral Pivden), with which a contract was signed on June 13, 2023 to carry out the relevant construction work. The construction of the 8.58 km long route is financed by a loan provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of 21.2 million euros. // 03.05.2024 – InfoMarket.
