In 2020, with the support of the European Union, Moldova received 127 million euros in grants and over 1 million doses of vaccines.

The EU Delegation to Moldova reported this, noting that all this assistance was provided through the Team Europe initiative as a response to solidarity with efforts aimed at combating the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. As noted, Moldova and the European Union continue to cooperate in order to increase the level of vaccination of Moldova’s population. In addition, in the next 2-3 years, the EU will help Moldova overcome the long-term consequences of the pandemic. For this, within the framework of the Economic Recovery Plan, up to 600 million euros will be provided. The first tranche of 36.4 million euros was allocated on 28 September 2021 as budgetary support to help carry out reforms in health care and the rule of law.
