The Chisinau City Hall will receive a grant of 21.5 million lei for the implementation of the project “Composting plant waste and processing construction waste in Chisinau".

The Chisinau Municipal Council decided to implement the project at a meeting on Thursday. The grant will be provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment through the National Ecological Fund. In connection with reclaiming a plant for processing plant waste on Pruncul Street, the municipal authorities intend to organize a site for processing construction waste and another site for compost. Within the framework of the project, the General Directorate of Housing and Utilities will purchase equipment for grinding construction and plant waste collected in the municipality: concrete (to obtain crushed stone), as well as plant waste (leaves and wood), which will be composted. The mayor's office clarifies that the municipal budget for 2021 provides for 20 million lei for the purchase of waste collection equipment in the capital. In particular, a bulldozer has already been purchased. Thus, part of the contribution of the mayor's office to the implementation of the project is special equipment. The total cost of the project "Composting plant waste and processing construction waste in Chisinau" is 28.4 million lei, of which the contribution of the beneficiary (the Chisinau mayor's office) must be at least 15%. // 07.10.2021 – InfoMarket
