Maibank meetup – diaspora edition: maib engaged with clients from the diaspora to discuss newly launched features and the remote banking experience
Moldova’s largest bank, maib, brought together Moldovans living abroad and the development team of its mobile app in a special edition of maibank meetup – diaspora edition. The event was designed for clients who use the bank’s services remotely, staying connected to Moldova through the app.
Participants had the opportunity to discover the app’s most useful features, share their experiences of using maibank while abroad, and inspire the development team to create banking that is simpler, more intuitive, and more convenient.
The newly launched functionalities in maibank make access to services easier for the diaspora: clients can open a maibank account from abroad using an international phone number, update their banking data from anywhere in the world, and purchase insurance directly through the app.

“Maib clients can now stay connected to their finances no matter where they are. Until now, access to the maibank mobile app was only possible with a Moldovan number on roaming. Starting today, Moldovans abroad can use their international phone number to manage their banking directly from the app. We’ve heard many experiences shared today, and we thank our clients for choosing maib wherever they may be.”
Currently, over 860,000 maib clients are using the maibank app.
Maibank meetup – diaspora edition concluded with a Q&A and networking session. This marks the fourth edition of the event, the only one of its kind in Moldova, designed to promote constructive feedback and offer insights into the processes behind the app’s functionalities.
