Over 1,000 sparkling wines from 29 countries to be blind-tasted at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Sparkling Wines Session, the benchmark event for this category. The event will take place for the first time in the Republic of Moldova, September 5–7, 2025.

Over 1,000 sparkling wines from 29 countries to be blind-tasted at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Sparkling Wines Session, the benchmark event for this category. The event will take place for the first time in the Republic of Moldova, September 5–7, 2025.

One of the four distinct Sessions organized annually by the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles will take place, for the first time, in the Republic of Moldova. This autumn, the competition – which holds specialized sessions to professionally evaluate each type of wine according to its specific characteristics – will be dedicated to sparkling wines, and the list of the world’s most highly appreciated wines will be drawn up right here in our country.

From September 5–7, 2025, the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles will bring together an expert panel of more than 50 professional tasters from around the world. The jury, which includes 3 Masters of Wine, international buyers, distributors and journalists, will blind-taste over 1,000 sparkling wines from 29 countries.

Hosting the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles for the first time in the Republic of Moldova is a unique opportunity to promote internationally the country brand “Wine of Moldova. Unexpectedly Great”, to increase the country’s visibility as an important wine tourism destination, and as a producer of high-quality wines on foreign markets.

Baudouin Havaux, President of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles: „It is an honour for us to bring the CMB to Moldova. In recent years, Moldovan wineries have made steady progress at our competitions, and their growing success makes Chișinău a natural choice as host city. One of the main missions of the CMB is to reveal quality wines from every corner of the world – and Moldova is now firmly on that map.”

With a history spanning more than three decades, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is a traveling competition that has been hosted in over 20 countries, providing international visibility for each host region and showcasing wines to a global audience.

Quentin Havaux, CEO of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles: “The mission of the CMB is to provide consumers with a trusted quality label. But the competition goes far beyond awarding medals: it also offers producers powerful marketing tools and international visibility, helping them open doors to new markets. We are excited to bring the Sparkling Wines session to Moldova in 2025.”

To ensure the successful organization of the event, Moldova will establish a strong partnership across the wine, tourism, gastronomy, and cultural sectors. Therefore, the competition will involve over 50 international and local jurors, three days of tastings, winery visits, and thematic workshops designed to offer guests a complete experience. It will also ensure extensive international media visibility through the presence of specialized foreign wine journalists.

Organized by the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles with the support of the National Office of Vine and Wine, the session is a unique opportunity to promote the national wine brand “Wine of Moldova. Unexpectedly Great.”

Hosting the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in Chișinău is an international recognition of the maturity and quality of Moldovan wines. It is also a historic milestone – positioning the Republic of Moldova as a premium wine-producing country, a key destination on the global wine tourism map, and an emerging hub for the wine industry in Eastern Europe.
