Maib supports art and cultural heritage as strategic partner of the "DescOperă" Festival

Maib reaffirms its commitment to culture and the arts by becoming the strategic partner of “DescOperă” - the only open-air classical music festival in Eastern Europe.

Now in its 8th edition, the event transforms the unconventional stage nestled in the heart of Butuceni village, within the Orheiul Vechi cultural-natural reserve, into a spectacular meeting place for talented artists from Moldova, Spain, Romania, and Ukraine. On June 20, 21, and 22, 2025, the cliffs of Orheiul Vechi become the stage, nature becomes the scenery, and music - the universal language.

Maib’s support for this festival aligns seamlessly with its culture of creating meaningful moments that inspire, bring people together, and honour Moldova’s cultural heritage.

Sergiu Prodan, Minister of Culture:

“For over a century, the world’s greatest open-air stages - from Arena di Verona to the Salzburg Festival or Glyndebourne - have shown that classical music belongs under the open sky, where art and nature blend into a truly unforgettable experience.

For the eighth year now, Moldova has become an international destination each June through the DescOperă Festival - a truly authentic event that has turned the cliffs of Orheiul Vechi into a dreamlike backdrop, where music inspires and the setting captivates even the most seasoned seekers of beauty and harmony.

We hope to someday match those centuries of tradition, and it is all the more meaningful to have partners who grow alongside us and see this type of collaboration not just as sponsorship, but as an honourable investment in Moldova’s cultural and spiritual legacy.”

Giorgi Shagidze, CEO of maib:

Maib team believes that innovation goes hand in hand with inspiration. Supporting the DescOperă Festival is our way of contributing to a vibrant cultural ecosystem where creativity, community, and nature coexist in harmony. For us, this is not just sponsorship - it’s a celebration of what unites us, what inspires us, and what reminds us of who we are.

We are honoured to be the strategic partner of a festival that brings opera under the open sky, showcasing talented artists from Moldova and abroad. We congratulate the Ministry of Culture on organizing the 8th edition of this exceptional event and thank them for this strategic partnership.”
