Dream come true: maib junior cardholder Gabriel to step onto the field at the UEFA Champions League 2025 final

The “UEFA Champions League 2025” campaign, organized by maib in partnership with Mastercard, has turned dreams into reality for the big winners, offering them unforgettable football experiences.
Gabriel, an 8-year-old boy who has been passionate about football since age 4 and an active player at FC Tracia, was named the grand prize winner in the maib junior category. This young maib junior cardholder will have the unique opportunity to step onto the legendary pitch of the Allianz Arena in Munich, hand-in-hand with one of the famous players participating in the UEFA Champions League 2025 final.

Giorgi Shagidze, CEO of maib:
“The partnership between maib and Mastercard in the “UEFA Champions League 2025” reflects our shared commitment to creating meaningful and memorable customer experiences. We are delighted to offer opportunities that inspire and bring joy, especially to football-loving children like Gabriel and past winners Alisa and Cristian. I want to thank our partner Mastercard for this campaign, which creates unforgettable moments for maib customers.”
Alongside Gabriel, two other promotion participants, Vasile Metei and Maxim Dornea, won the grand prizes — invitations to the most anticipated match of the year. For them, their passion for football turns into a unique experience, enjoyed live from the stands of Europe’s biggest football spectacle.

Irina Untila, Country manager Mastercard in Moldova:
“Gabriel’s story perfectly reflects Mastercard’s commitment to turning dreams into reality through unique and memorable experiences. With our partner maib, we offer customers in the Republic of Moldova the chance to enjoy priceless moments at the UEFA Champions League final for the third consecutive year. We are thrilled to be part of these moments that inspire, move, and create lasting memories.”

Aliona Stratan, maib First Deputy Chairwoman:
“At maib, we always aim to offer our customers more than just banking — we create memorable experiences and emotions. If we can do something more for our community, we do it without hesitation. I know how much joy the prizes from this campaign have brought to the lucky winners’ families, and this is just the beginning. The greatest emotions will be fully felt at the Allianz Arena in Munich. Thank you, Mastercard, for a campaign that brings authentic emotions, encourages digital payments and helps us build impactful projects together.”

Gabriel Șumleanschi, campaign winner and maib junior cardholder:
“I’m happy that I won the grand prize and had the chance to walk onto the field with the football players. Thanks to the maib junior card, I will fulfil my dream of being on the pitch at the final with a footballer.”
The maib and Mastercard campaign doesn’t stop here. Until May 25, customers still have the chance to win attractive prizes: PlayStation 5 consoles, official equipment, Adidas vouchers, or invitations to Moldova’s national team matches. Participation is simple -  every payment made with a Mastercard card  issued by maib brings you closer to winning.
