The Government of Moldova has begun the process of merging Aroma and Barza Albă joint stock companies
This was announced by the General Director of the Public Property Agency Roman Cojuhari, answering questions from parliament deputies regarding the inclusion of the Aroma enterprise in the list of objects not subject to privatization. He noted that the merger of Aroma and Barza Albă will ensure the exit of the Aroma plant from the insolvency process, which has been ongoing since 2014 and which could have been avoided or terminated during this period. Roman Cojuhari explained that during the merger process, Barza Albă will receive all the assets and property of Aroma, including distillates and divins, which it will effectively manage. Recall that previously the Balti wine and cognac plant Barza Albă (“White Stork”) was recognized as an object of cultural and national heritage of Moldova and included in the list of assets not subject to privatization. It was noted that the merger of two enterprises through acquisition (Barza Albă is the absorbing party) is intended to streamline the activities of both enterprises with state capital, strengthen the production capacity and market position of Barza Albă, which is an object of national cultural heritage. It is planned that the main concept of the company will be promotion as a symbol of the country, which, through high quality and efficient activities, promotes the wine sector of Moldova at the world level. 100% of the shares of Barza Albă belong to the state. The authorized capital of the company is 136.7 million lei.// 11.07.2024 — InfoMarket.
