
In Moldova, the volume of industrial production in January-May 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by 2.6%.

According to the agency, at the same time, in May 2022, the volume of industrial production increased by 13.2% compared to the same month of the previous year. In general, in January-May 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, production volumes in the mining industry increased by 7.6%, and in the processing industry - by 4.9%. According to the NBS, food industry enterprises for 5 months of 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, increased overall production volumes by 43.6%. The production of beverages increased by 24.6%, textile production - decreased by 8.7%, clothing - increased by 11.8%. Tanning and leather finishing section; production of suitcases, bags, harness and saddlery; dressing and dyeing of fur increased by 6.5%, and in the section of wood processing and production of wood and cork products, except for furniture; production of products from straw and other plant materials for weaving - an increase of 31.9%. The production of paper and paper products increased by 21.5%, while the production of chemicals and chemical products increased by 7.8%. The output of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceuticals decreased by 2.2%, while the output of rubber and plastic products increased by 21.9%. In the metallurgical industry, production decreased by 30.5%. The output of metal structures and products, except for machines, equipment and installations, decreased by 6.1%, and in the section "production of computers, electronic and optical products" the indicator decreased by 4%. The production of electrical equipment decreased by 54.2%, machinery and equipment - by 26.7%, and cars, trailers and semi-trailers - by 42.2%, furniture - by 1.8%. In the repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment section, the decline was 21.8%. Production and supply of electrical and thermal energy, gas, hot water decreased by 7.3%.
