
In Moldova, the volume of industrial production in the first quarter of 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by 3.4%.

According to the agency, at the same time, in March 2022, the volume of industrial production increased by 2.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. In general, in January-March 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, production volumes in the mining industry increased by 22%, and in the processing industry - by 4.4%. According to the NBS, food industry enterprises for 3 months of 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, increased overall production volumes by 46.8%. The production of beverages increased by 10.5%, textile production - decreased by 13.8%, clothing - increased by 13%. Tanning and leather finishing section; production of suitcases, bags, harness and saddlery; dressing and dyeing of fur increased by 8.9%, and in the section of wood processing and production of wood and cork products, except for furniture; production of products from straw and other plant materials for weaving - an increase of 30.1%. The production of paper and paper products increased by 22.6%, while the production of chemicals and chemical products increased by 12.2%. The output of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceuticals increased by 7.4%, while the output of rubber and plastic products increased by 24.2%. In the metallurgical industry, production decreased by 9.7%. The output of metal structures and products, except for machines, equipment and installations, increased by 16.5%, while in the section "production of computers, electronic and optical products" the indicator decreased by 13.5%. The production of electrical equipment decreased by 44.2%, machinery and equipment - by 58.2%, and cars, trailers and semi-trailers - by 48.4%. Furniture output increased by 17.5%. In the repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment section, the decline was 25.6%. The production and supply of electric and thermal energy, gas, hot water declined by 0.6%.
