
In Moldova, the volume of industrial production in January-May 2021, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by 11.7%.

According to the department, in May 2021 the volume of industrial production increased by 11.6%, compared to the same month of the previous year. In general, in January-May 2021, in comparison with the same period of 2020, production volumes in the extractive industry increased by 11.2%, and in the processing industry - by 8.5%. According to the NBS, food industry enterprises for 5 months 2021, in comparison with the same period in 2020, reduced the overall production volumes by 14%. The growth in beverage production was 6.7%. The production of textile products increased by 47.4%. Clothing production increased by 21.4%. For tanning and leather finishing; production of suitcases, bags, harness and saddlery; dressing and dyeing of fur increased by 44%, and in the section wood processing and production of wood and cork products, except for furniture; production of products from straw and other plant materials for plaiting - 56.7%. Production of paper and paper products increased by 7.1%, while production of chemicals and chemical products decreased by 4.8%. The output of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceuticals increased by 13.8%, rubber and plastic products - by 8.2%. In the metallurgical industry, production increased by 58.2%. The output of metal structures and products, except for machinery, equipment and installations, increased by 30.6%, and in the section "production of computers, electronic and optical products" the indicator increased by 73.4%. The production of electrical equipment increased by 8.8%, machinery and equipment - increased by 23.3%, cars, trailers and semi-trailers - decreased by 3.7%. Furniture production increased by 76.7%. In the section repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment, the growth was 15.1%. Production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water increased by 25.4%.
