Moldovan civil servants will undergo internships at the European Commission to accumulate experience and skills for the process of Moldova's accession to the EU
In particular, Moldovan officials will be sent to the European Commission in order to strengthen Moldova's European integration potential. This is stipulated by the Administrative Agreement between the Moldovan Government and the European Commission on the secondment of some Moldovan officials to the European Commission, ratified by the Parliament, signed in Brussels on October 17, 2024. Accordingly, Moldovan civil servants will be able to participate in the “Seconded National Experts” (END) and “National Experts in Professional Training” (ENFP) programs, in order to gain experience in the field of European Commission policies. For the ENFP program, the internship period is from 3 to 5 months, and for the END program - up to 2 years. Moldova will be able to second civil servants who have worked for at least 1 year in a state institution and who, upon their return, will contribute to Moldova's European integration process. According to the document, the seconded Moldovan civil servants will retain their status of Moldovan civil servants, with all the social and professional rights guaranteed by the legislation in force. Also during Thursday's meeting, the law on the secondment of national experts to EU institutions or bodies, as well as amendments to the relevant normative framework, was passed in the first reading. The document regulates the secondment of contractual employees from public institutions or authorities or from employers in Moldova. The provisions define the legal relations between the seconded national expert and the Moldovan employer, as well as the provided rights, guarantees and obligations. // 27.03.2025 - InfoMarket
