The Customs Service updates the rules of declaration and customs control of goods that travelers carry across the customs border of Moldova
The relevant draft has been submitted by the Customs Service for public consultations. The document will replace the current regulation, approved in 2008, which provides for the procedure of declaration and form of customs control of transported goods, rights and obligations of travelers when declaring goods. The new regulation stipulates the procedures for declaring goods of non-commercial and commercial origin, the rules for applying two-color control over goods that travelers transport by private vehicles (“green” - nothing to declare, “red” - if a traveler crossing the border periodically transports goods subject to declaration and payment of customs duties). Goods can be declared orally or in writing, depending on the situation. The specifics of customs control and declaration of certain categories of goods and cargo, limits, documents and privileges are also described. This applies to the transportation of coffins with bodies or remains of dead/dead people, fresh plants and planting material, weapons and ammunition, precious metals and stones, articles made of precious metals, cultural values, currency and medicines. At the same time, according to the document, the import of used rubber tires, waste (except for those received by free economic zones’ residents), rubber residues, parts and accessories for cars, chemical-toxic substances, explosives and pyrotechnics, psychotropic substances, endangered plants and animals, etc. is prohibited. Consultations on the project are open until August 15. // 26.07.2024 - InfoMarket.
