
Anca Dragu, Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), proposed to the Parliament the candidacy of Petru Rotaru for the position of NBM Vice-Governor
According to the report of the National Bank, the decision to propose to the Parliament the candidacy of the Finance Minister Petru Rotaru for the position of NBM Vice-Governor is part of the National Bank's efforts to ensure stability and continuous development of the financial sector in Moldova. Petru Rotaru has been the Minister of Finance since 2023 and has extensive experience in the financial sector, demonstrating outstanding qualities throughout his career. He graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova in 2007 with a degree in finance and accounting, and obtained a Master of Laws degree from the same institution between 2010 and 2012. His career included positions in the financial sector and public administration. He was a member of the Moldovan Court of Accounts from 2016-2023 and later headed the State Tax Service. “We are convinced that Petru Rotaru's experience, integrity and reputation will contribute significantly to the fulfillment of the National Bank's mission and the consolidation of Moldova's financial system,” said Anca Dragu, Governor of the NBM.
