June 1 and 2 are declared days off for state employees of Moldova.

June 1 and 2 are declared days off for state employees of Moldova.

Such a decision was taken by the government at a meeting on Wednesday. Thus, since June 3 and 4 are days off, public employees are to enjoy a 4-day vacation from June 1 to 4. In particular, the government decision stipulates that this year, the days of June 1 and 2 are considered days off, with subsequent working out of the working time by employees, by extending the daily mode of work. According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, this provision applies to employees of public authorities and institutions, while for real sector enterprises of the national economy the decision is of a recommendatory nature, the decision to grant days off on June 1 and 2 to employees is made by their managers. Recording of the day/hours required for working out will be carried out by the employer until the full restoration of the day off. At the same time, the baccalaureate national exam test, scheduled for June 2, will be held in accordance with the schedule established by the Ministry of Education and Science, involving employees in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code. It should be noted that on June 1, Moldova will host a meeting of the European Political Community, in which about 50 presidents and heads of governments, as well as leaders of the European Union will participate. June 1 (Children's Day) was previously included in the list of traditional holidays of Moldova and, according to an earlier decision of the parliament, is a non-working day. However, the relevant amendments were not made to Article 111 of the Labor Code, which lists nonworking holidays. The corresponding draft resolution should be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. // 17.05.2023 - InfoMarket
