In 2023, Moldova will allocate 66.5 million lei to pay membership fees and repay debts to international and regional organizations.
The government approved a resolution to this effect at Tuesday's meeting. The matter concerns membership fees to 67 international and regional organizations. They are divided into three categories: parliamentary organizations - 5 structures (7.6 million lei), international organizations - 55 structures (55.8 million lei) and CIS organizations - 7 structures (3.1 million lei). The total sum of membership fees, compared to 2022, will increase by 6.6% this year, due to an increase in the budgets of international organizations due to inflation growth, application of international sanctions against Russia and changes in exchange rates of the MDL against international currencies. In 2023, the largest sums will be allocated for membership dues to the Council of Europe - 9.9 million lei (462.9 thousand euros), the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS - 5.8 million lei ($290.3 thousand), the UN, including voluntary contributions - more than 5 million lei ($250 thousand). The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) - 4.8 million lei ($240.4 thousand), the Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna - 4.3 million lei ($215.1 thousand), the International Labor Organization - 3.3 million lei (154.6 thousand Swiss francs), etc. It is worth mentioning that this year, for the first time, Moldova will not pay the fees for the representation of the Interstate TV and Radio Company Mir in Moldova. In this context, Prime Minister's press secretary Daniel Voda said that the Moldovan authorities are not going to spend budget money to support and disseminate disinformation. // 04.04.2023 - InfoMarket.
