Internships of young people in state institutions for the first time in Moldova will be paid from the state budget.

Internships of young people in state institutions for the first time in Moldova will be paid from the state budget.

This is provided for by the corresponding bill, which was registered by the MP from the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) Ana Calinici. According to the document, in particular, young people aged 18 to 29 inclusive, selected by competition, will be able to undergo paid internships in institutions such as the Presidential Administration of Moldova, the Parliament, the State Chancellery, ministries and subordinates and departments. “We want high-quality and motivating internships for young people, which is why we are proposing this bill, which changes the perception of internships that we are used to. For the first time in Moldova, internships will be paid from the state budget. The scholarship, which we have agreed with the government, will amount to 3,000 lei for 160 hours per month, and will be paid in proportion to the number of hours actually worked,” said Ana Calinici. The bill will also provide a predictable framework for interns, she said, offering all the necessary guarantees for a quality internship. Interns will have an internship agreement with clear rights and obligations, and they will receive a certificate of completion of the internship. In this case, the internship will be taken into account when calculating the length of service. An important aspect is the fact that young people will have the opportunity to find a job after the internship, without competition and without a probationary period, but with certain conditions: having a higher education, completing a full internship program of 720 hours, assessing the activity as “very good”. “This project, in our opinion, is trying to solve two problems, firstly, to attract young people to government institutions in order to empower them, and secondly, to give young people the opportunity to really influence things and make changes. In the coming weeks, we will return with public consultations on this bill,” said Eugeniu Sinchevici, a PAS deputy. // 28.11.2022 — InfoMarket
