Chisinau has never introduced the so-called "economic blockade" of Transnistria and does not apply discriminatory approaches to the business environment - Bureau for Reintegration.
This was stated by the Moldovan department, giving some clarifications on the statements of Tiraspol about the allegedly created obstacles in the economic activities of companies from the Transnistrian region. In the context of Tiraspol's growing accusations against Moldova's constitutional authorities of allegedly deliberately restricting the import of various categories of goods into the region, the Moldovan Bureau for Reintegration noted that the mentioned difficulties are deliberately and artificially created by de facto decision-makers in the region, who resort to various preconditions not to comply with strict national regulatory frameworks and existing international obligations. It is emphasized that the economic agents of the region are registered and have licenses for activities issued by the competent national authorities, their internal and external commercial operations are carried out in accordance with the current legislation, they directly and effectively interact with the competent state institutions that offer them advice, guidance, recommendations and explanations according to the packages of documents that need to be provided, the mandatory procedures that need to be followed, the shortcomings that need to be eliminated. The constitutional authorities of Moldova provide all possible assistance to entrepreneurs from the eastern regions of the country and make every effort to transfer their activities to a single economic and trade space in compliance with the strict legal framework in force throughout the country. “We clarify that they demonstrate a good understanding, receptivity and willingness to comply with the standards and requirements set at the national and international level. Unfortunately, the attempts of Tiraspol to give the processes a political coloring and to form an idea of the functioning of parallel normative spaces, with the imposition of legally inappropriate and not approved in the established order of rules and nomenclatures, complicate the life of citizens and entrepreneurs on both banks of the Dniester,” the Bureau for Reintegration of Moldova said. They stressed that Chisinau has never introduced so-called “economic blockade” measures and does not apply discriminatory approaches to the business environment in the region, and compliance with the law is required on both sides, including from the point of view of maintaining fair competition, especially since more then 70% of commercial transactions of companies in the region are carried out with the right bank and with the countries of the European Union, which also imposes corresponding strict requirements.// 21.04.2022 — InfoMarket
