The U.S. will allocate another $50 million to Moldova to strengthen democracy, the economy, and reduce dependence on the Russian market and its energy resources.
This was announced by the head of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power, at a briefing after a meeting in Chisinau with Moldovan President Maia Sandu. She noted that these funds will be added to the $50 million assistance for Moldova, announced earlier by US Representative to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, to overcome the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, as well as $20 million to provide Ukrainian refugees in Moldova with food, water and all necessary things. Samantha Power thanked Moldova and its people for the generous support provided to Ukrainian refugees, stressing that she admired Moldova for its courage and kindness in managing refugees. // 07.04.2022 – InfoMarket
