
Total sales revenues in the electronic communications sector of Moldova amounted to 5 billion 941.4 million lei in 2020, down 3.8% to 2019.
The National Agency for the Regulation of Electronic Communications and Information Technologies (ANRCETI) reported this, noting that the market continues to register the downward trend recorded in the last 5 years in the sectors of mobile and fixed telephony, Pay TV services against the background of rapid growth in the sectors of mobile and fixed internet. In particular, the volume of sales in the mobile telephony market decreased by 6.3% - to 2 billion 945.3 million lei, and in the fixed telephony market - decreased by 14.4% - to 379.6 million lei. At the same time, the income received from the sale of Pay TV services decreased by 5.1% - to 283.3 million lei. At the same time, the revenue from sales in the market of fixed Internet access services increased by 1.6% - up to 1 billion 383 million lei, and in the market of mobile Internet access services, increased by 1.9% - up to 1 billion 208. 8 million lei. Revenue from other activities in the field of electronic communications increased by 4.1% - up to 714.8 million lei. According to ANRCETI estimates, the current trends in the market of electronic communications services will continue in the coming years. Markets of mobile and fixed Internet services will remain the fastest growing markets in this sector, and growth trends in them will be stimulated by an increase in the degree of influence on the daily life of citizens, increased competition, as well as more favorable offers for users of these services. According to ANRCETI, the highest level of average monthly income per user (ARPU) in 2020 was in the market of fixed Internet access services - 166.6 lei (-5.4% against 2019). The size of this indicator in the market of allotted mobile Internet access services amounted to 91.7 lei (+ 8.8%), in the market of mobile telephony services - 71.4 lei (-2.5%), in the pay TV services market - 44.2 lei (+ 12.9%), while in the fixed telephony market - 30 lei (-11.3%). // 04.05.2021 – InfoMarket
