Moldova's accession to the European Single Market will open up new opportunities in markets with which the EU has preferential trade agreements, providing access to new export destinations - the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization
This was stated by Cristina Ceban, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, noting that Moldova's accession to the European Single Market will mean the elimination of technical barriers that currently hinder trade and "simplification of access to the world's largest market." She emphasized that for Moldovan companies, this means fewer obstacles to exports and more opportunities for development. "Success will depend on compliance with European quality standards, adaptation of production processes, and strengthening trade partnerships in the EU market. At the same time, membership in the Single Market will also open up new opportunities in markets with which the EU has preferential trade agreements, providing Moldovan producers with access to new export destinations," said Cristina Ceban. Commenting on the start of negotiations with the European Union on Cluster 6, "External Relations," she noted that this represents a new step in the EU accession process. For the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, this process signifies alignment with the EU's common trade policy, a framework that will strengthen Moldovan companies' access to the European market and ensure predictability, stability, and opportunities for trade and investment. "The experience gained through the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area Agreement provides a solid foundation for the successful implementation of this chapter of the negotiations. Each completed stage of accession negotiations strengthens Moldova's preparation for integration into the European Union and benefits the economy, companies, and citizens," the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization emphasized. // 17.07.2026 — InfoMarket.
