
With the support of the European Union, a multimodal terminal is planned to be built in Chisinau to promote trade between Moldova and the EU
The European Union's representative office in Moldova announced this, noting that Moldova's trade with the EU is growing rapidly, and at the same time, the need for smarter logistics solutions is also increasing. In this regard, there are plans to build a multimodal terminal in Chisinau. This is one of the measures with immediate results provided for in the TEN-T Investment Action Plan. In addition, the future facility is considered a landmark project for the Eastern Partnership. The new hub is expected to boost Moldova's logistics potential, provide exporters with faster and more cost-effective access to EU markets, and connect road, rail, and maritime transport into a single modern center. According to the EU delegation to our country, the technical and economic feasibility study for the future terminal is already being developed with the support of the EU-funded EPIC Mechanism and in cooperation with the Moldovan authorities.
