
Imports to Moldova in January-November 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, decreased by 5.8%, amounting to $7 billion 858.7 million.
The National Bureau of Statistics reported that, traditionally, the majority of goods were imported into the country by road transport - 79.5% of the total volume. Maritime transport accounted for 7.5% of total imports, railway - 3.9%, air - 2%, self-propelled imports - 0.7%, postal items - 0.1%, and the share of fixed transport installations (gas pipelines), electrical networks) – 6.3% of total imports. In particular, the volume of imports of products to Moldova from EU countries in January-November 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, decreased by 2% - to $3 billion 812.8 million, from the CIS countries - decreased by 30.7% - to $1 billion 425.5 million. Import of goods from other countries increased by 9.3% - up to $2 billion 620.4 million. The share of EU countries in the total volume of Moldovan imports increased from 46.62% to 48.52%, the share of CIS countries decreased from 24.66% to 18.14%, and the share of other countries increased from 28.72% to 33.34%. The TOP countries, which accounted for the largest volumes of Moldovan imports over 11 months in 2023, included: Romania (15.1% of total imports), Ukraine (11.9%), China (11.7%), Turkey (8.7%), Germany (7.2%), Italy (5.5%), Russia (3.8%), Poland (3.7%), India (2.5%), France (2.4%), Hungary (2.1%), Czech Republic ( 1.9%), Bulgaria and Greece (1.7% each), USA and Spain (1.4% each), Japan (1.2%), Austria, Belarus, Slovakia, the Netherlands (1% each), Great Britain (0.9%). Analysis of the evolution of imports by country in January-November 2023, to the same period in 2022, shows an increase in imports to Moldova from Ukraine (+17.6%), from Turkey (+14.8%), Greece ( up2.1 times), China (+7.3%), Germany (+6.6%), Italy (+8.3%), UAE (6.2 times), Kazakhstan (2.3 times), Japan (+40.4%), France (+14.8%), Czech Republic (+17.2%), Slovakia (+35.1%), Vietnam (+43.5%), Spain (+12 .3%), Sweden (+35.5%), Azerbaijan (2 times), Poland (+3.5%), Ecuador (+44.2%), Georgia (3 times), Egypt (1 .7 times), Great Britain (+8.2%). At the same time, the volume of imports to Moldova from the following countries decreased: from Russia (-72.8%), Romania (-21%), India (-15.6%), USA (-10.1%), Belarus (-9.8%), Uzbekistan (-34%), the Netherlands (-6.2%). In the import structure for 11 months in 2023, significant shares were occupied by the following groups of goods: oil, petroleum products and related products (15.5%); electrical machines and equipment and their parts (7.7%); motor vehicles (7.1%); gas and industrial products obtained from gas (6.3%); yarn, fabrics, textiles and related products (3.5%), medicinal and pharmaceutical products (3.5%); industrial machines and general purpose devices; parts and spare parts for these machines (2.9%); apparatus and equipment for telecommunications and for recording and reproducing sound and images (2.6%); specialized machines and devices for specific industries (2.6%); vegetables and fruits (2.5%); clothing and accessories (2.4%); processed metal products (2.3%). // 16.01.2024 - InfoMarket.
