
Imports to Moldova in January-October 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by 30.8%, amounting to $7 billion 485.2 million
As InfoMarket was informed at the National Bureau of Statistics, at the same time, traditionally, most goods were imported into the country by road - 76.4% of the total. Sea transport accounted for 7.4% of total imports, rail transport - 4.8%, air transport - 1.7%, self-propelled imports - 0.6%, postal items - 0.1%, and the share of fixed transport installations (gas pipelines, electric networks) - 9% of the total import volume. In particular, the volume of imports to Moldova of products from EU countries for 10 months 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by 33.7% - up to $3 billion 461.2 million, from the CIS countries - increased by 29.9% - up to $1 billion 865.7 million. The import of goods from other states increased by 27.2% - up to $ 1 billion 158.2 million. The share of EU countries in the total volume of Moldovan imports increased from 45.25% to 46.24%, the share of CIS countries decreased from 25.1% to 24.93 %, while the share of other states decreased from 29.65% to 28.83%. The TOP countries that accounted for the largest volumes of Moldovan imports in January-October 2022 included: Romania (17.3% of total imports), Russia (13.3%), China (10.2%), Ukraine (9.7%), Turkey (7.1%), Germany (6.4%), Italy (4.9%), Poland (3.4%), India (2.9%), France and Hungary (2% each), Bulgaria, the USA and the Czech Republic (1.5% each), Spain (1.2%), Belarus (1.1%), the Netherlands (1%), Austria (0.9%), Great Britain and Japan (0.8% each), Greece, South and Slovakia (0.7% each), Belgium (0.6%). Herewith, according to the NBS, for 10 months 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, imports to Moldova increased from Romania (by 1.9 times), Russia (+31.8%), Ukraine (+34.7%), India (by 5.8 times, due to significant supplies of diesel fuel in the amount of $169 million), Turkey (+23.6%), China (+15%), Hungary (+48.3%), Bulgaria (1.7 times), Poland ( +18%), Germany (+7.9%), USA (+31.4%), Israel (2.8 times due to significant supplies of diesel fuel for $13.4 million), Czech Republic (+17.8% ), Slovakia (+51.5%), Greece (+44.3%), Spain (+16.9%), the Netherlands (+20.4%), France (+8.5%), Serbia (+ 40.2%), Azerbaijan (8 times), South Korea (+16.6%), Turkmenistan (2 times), Sweden (+30.6%), Uzbekistan (1.7 times), Great Britain ( +10.9%). Meanwhile, the volume of imports to Moldova from Belarus (-26.9%), Austria (-18%), Argentina (-59.8%), Vietnam (-21.6%) decreased.
