The “Energy Vulnerability” information system will be expanded and a new module will be integrated into it - “Eco-Voucher”.
The government made corresponding changes to the concept of the “Energy Vulnerability” system. In particular, the information system will be improved by distinguishing between two modules. The first (“Energy Vulnerability”) is intended to provide compensation for energy consumption during the cold season. Legal, financial and organizational conditions for the development of this module will be provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. The second module (“Eco-Voucher”) is designed to register all information about subsidies that will be provided to cover part of the cost of improving energy efficiency in the home: replacing outdated electrical and electronic household appliances with more energy efficient ones, as well as replacing windows, modernization of individual heating systems, thermal insulation of houses. The Ministry of Energy through the Energy Efficiency Agency will be responsible for supporting the second module. The amendments made will automate the process of managing the program for providing support to households during the cold season and provide centralized data recording. The system for providing compensation on accounts has also been supplemented with two new categories of energy vulnerability - primary and maximum. For the implementation of these changes in 2024, 210 thousand lei are planned in the state budget. Herewith, UNDP Moldova will provide $40 thousand for the development of the Eco-Voucher module; the costs of supporting the module will be covered by the Ministry of Energy.// 11.10.2023 — InfoMarket.
