Scheduled and unscheduled inspections will be possible in Free Economic Zones.
The relevant draft amendments to the Law on Free Economic Zones (FEZ) have been registered with the parliament. In particular, it is proposed that control of FEZ residents will be exercised within the framework of scheduled inspections - not more than once a calendar year, as well as within the framework of unplanned inspections, if there is one of the following circumstances: violation of tax or statistical reporting deadlines or submission of unreliable data; presence of signs of violations and complaints on violation of legislation by the resident; existence of documented information on emergencies, accidents or violations of techniques without any discrimination. All inspections in the territory of FEZ will be carried out only in the presence of the administrator and the resident, or in their absence - in case of unplanned inspections, but in the presence of police representatives. At the same time in Giurgiulesti port, planned inspections will be able to be carried out in the presence of a government representative, except for inspections organized by tax and customs authorities, as well as criminal prosecution bodies. The bill aims to eliminate existing gaps in the legislation, which do not allow conducting inspections or allow blocking them. The bill has to be approved by the Parliament. // 18.04.2023 - InfoMarket
