Employees of IT Park resident companies will be entitled to work remotely, both in Moldova and from abroad.
This is provided for by relevant amendments to the Law on Information Technology Parks, which was passed by the Parliament in the second reading. The bill also envisages the expansion of the list of activities allowed in information technology parks. These activities are mainly related to the use of specialized high-performance computing equipment, which has the potential for growth, but is currently not covered by the legislation on IT parks. In particular, post-production phase activities of film, video and television production would be permitted in IT parks, limited to: digital color correction and restoration services; sound editing and accompaniment planning services; sound recording and music publishing activities, limited to original sound production activities; engineering surveying activities and technical consulting services in this area, limited to technical design services for industrial and manufacturing facilities In addition, it is proposed to expand the sources of funding for the administration of IT-parks, as well as to oblige the residents who apply the appropriate tax regime for IT-parks to undergo an annual audit. Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba said that in 2022, the volume of sales of IT-parks residents in Moldova exceeded 7.5 billion lei, which is almost 49% more than the year before. At the same time, the industry is massively export-oriented, which has a positive effect on the country's trade balance. // 31.03.2023 – InfoMarket
