Moldovan authorities to take new measures to support business and exempt companies from the mandatory audit of financial statements for the past year.

In particular, this is provided for by the relevant bill, which received a positive opinion from the legal commission of the parliament on issues of law, appointments and immunity, which recommended that the document be considered at a plenary session. According to the press service of the parliament, the bill provides for exemption from mandatory audit of financial statements of medium and large enterprises for 2020, as well as consolidated financial statements of groups. According to the authors, this will release most of the enterprises from additional costs that can be used to fulfill payment obligations to employees, suppliers, to reduce debts, to maintain activities. The cost of audit services is on average 50-150 thousand lei. It should be noted that in order to mitigate the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, a year ago, the Emergency Situations Commission decided to exempt the financial statements of medium and large enterprises from the statutory audit and from the consolidated financial statements of groups for 2019. // 07.04.2021 – InfoMarket
