
Moldova: Thanks to direct subsidy payments in the livestock sector, the volume of cow milk subsidized by the authorities increased almost 45% over the year, from 29 thousand tons in 2022 to more than 42 thousand tons in 2023
At the same time, the number of subsidized cattle increased from 5,100 in 2021 to more than 17,400 in 2022. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry cited such, noting that these results show that properly directed subsidy payments bring significant benefits to the livestock sector and the impact of previous subsidy measures is significant. The Agriculture Ministry urged farm animal owners to apply for the 3rd call for direct payments in the livestock sector. The agricultural department reminded that, in particular, it is possible to apply for direct payments from the National Fund for Agricultural and Rural Development per head of animal - for each heifer, young sheep, goat over 3 months old and heifer over 12 months old; for each foal and mare. In addition, there are direct payments per kilogram of cow, sheep or goat milk. Applications will be accepted until September 13 for applications for livestock payments. At the same time, for direct payments per kilogram of milk produced from January 1 to June 30, applications will be accepted until August 23. Dossiers for the contest should be submitted to the territorial offices of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture.
