
The National Bee Day will be celebrated annually on May 20 in Moldova
Parliament adopted this decision, amending its previous decision on holidays and rest days in Moldova. The proposal to establish the holiday came from the National Association of Beekeepers and is aimed at popularizing the consumption of honey and bee products by the population. According to the author of the legislative initiative, an MP from the Action and Solidarity party, Gheorghe Ichim, beekeeping and honey production are traditional activities in most Moldovan settlements. He said that the stimulation of the increase in the consumption of bee honey and bee products will eventually contribute to the health of the population, to the increase of the market for bee honey and bee products, including through the emergence of new opportunities for cooperation between economic agents from Moldova and other countries, the implementation of the most advanced technologies and best practices of bee breeding, honey production and domestic bee products.
