Moldova has started accepting new applications for advance subsidies of up to 1 million lei for land improvement investment projects.

In particular, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry announced the acceptance of applications from landowners for advance subsidies for investment projects related to land reclamation, soil improvement and protection. The state support will amount to 80% of the cost of an eligible project, which should not exceed 1 million lei. The applications will be accepted till October 18. The applicants will be able to receive support from the state for the following measures: prevention and control of soil erosion; chemical improvement of soil; preservation and increase of soil fertility. A legal/physical entity or first-level territorial-administrative unit that owns or uses land, is registered in accordance with the procedure established by law, and intends to implement a project in a first-level administrative-territorial unit may apply for the subsidy. Advance subsidies will be paid in two installments: I tranche - 70% of the subsidy amount, will be paid on condition of providing evidence of co-financing by the beneficiary in the proportion of at least 20% of the investment project cost; II tranche - 30% of the subsidy amount, will be provided on the basis of the application for payment after putting the investment object into operation and providing supporting documents. The application for advance subsidy shall be submitted by the applicant to the department/territorial service of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture from the district where the applicant will make the investment. // 14.09.2023 - InfoMarket.
