The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) informed that the decrease of the gross agricultural production was caused by the reduction of the crop production by 23.5% and livestock production by 5.9%. In particular, in the third quarter of this year, agricultural production decreased by 22.2%, compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, including crop production - by 24.2%, and livestock - by 6.5%. According to the NBS, the share of agricultural production obtained in Q3 2022 was 77.9% of the total agricultural production obtained in 9 months of 2022, while the share of Q3 2021 in the total volume of agricultural products received in 9 months of 2021 was 81.9%. As the NBS notes, this year's total crop yield, especially cereals, has dropped significantly compared to the previous year. According to preliminary estimates, the total yield of cereals and leguminous crops (excluding corn) in farms of all categories amounted to about 1 million tons (47% less), including wheat - 828 thousand tons (-47%), barley - about 131 thousand tons (-48%), beans - about 34 thousand tons (-14%). According to the NBS, the course of harvesting in agricultural enterprises (including large peasant (farm) farms) in January-September 2022 indicates a decrease in the average yield of most major agricultural crops. According to the NBS, the average yield of cereals and legumes in Moldova in January-September 2022 totaled 25.1 c/ha (-43.6% compared to the same period in 2021). At the same time, the average yield of wheat was 2557 c/ha (-44.2%), barley - 24.6 c/ha (-40.4%), legumes in general - 16.2 c/ha (-34.7 %), maize - 17 c/ha (-69.5%). The average yield of sunflower was 13.9 c/ha (-42.8%), sugar beet - 137 c/ha (-67.4%), rapeseed - 22.8 c/ha (-15.2%), soybeans - 10.2 c/ha (-59.8%), potatoes - 204.2 c/ha (-12.2%), vegetables - 128.3 c/ha (+22.5%), pome fruits - 141.2 c/ha (-4.5%), stone fruits - 65.1 c/ha (+3.3%), grapes - 76 c/ha (+11.8%). According to the NBS, in January-September 2022, compared to the same period last year, raising livestock and poultry (in live weight) in all categories of farms (in comparable prices) decreased in physical terms by 5.3% - to 136 .5 thousand tons. At the same time, in agricultural enterprises this indicator decreased by 2.4% - to 72.6 thousand tons, and in households - decreased by 8.4% - to 63.9 thousand tons. Production of cow's milk for 9 months in 2022 decreased by 12.1% - to 217.3 thousand tons. At the same time, cow’s milk production in agricultural enterprises increased by 11.8% - up to 24.6 thousand tons, and in households - decreased by 14.4% - up to 192.7 thousand tons. In January-September 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, egg production in Moldova increased by 0.2% - up to 516.2 million eggs.
