The term of the special commission in charge to elaborate the National Strategy for the Development of Moldova’s Irrigation Sector until 2030 has been extended until May 31, 2021.

The term of the special commission in charge to elaborate the National Strategy for the Development of Moldova’s Irrigation Sector until 2030 has been extended until May 31, 2021.

The parliament adopted the corresponding decision at a plenary session on Friday, taking into account the fact that the originally established period of 5 months turned out to be insufficient for the development and presentation of a comprehensive document of state policy in this area. During this period, in order to elaborate a draft National Strategy for the Development of the Irrigation Sector of Moldova until 2030, the said special commission, in cooperation with development partners, analyzed the situation in this area, formulated goals and priority areas of the future strategic document, identified stakeholders, selected experts from among specialists for drafting this document, organized a meeting with representatives of agricultural producers' associations, at which views, proposals and recommendations on the strategy were presented. To finalize and complete the development of the draft National Strategy for the Development of the Irrigation Sector of Moldova until 2030, the MPs approved the requested extension of the term of the said special commission until May 31. A special commission to elaborate the National Strategy for the Development of Moldova’s Irrigation Sector until 2030 was established by a parliamentary decree of July 9, 2020, at the initiative of MP Alexandru Oleinic. // 12.02.2021 - InfoMarket.
