Moldova’s Road Fund funds used for all works in the first half of 2025 exceeded 1 billion lei, which accounted for 37% of the total amount
This was discussed at a meeting of the Road Fund Council chaired by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, at which a report was presented on the use of funds allocated for national public roads in the first half of the year, and the reallocation of funds was considered. Prime Minister stressed that Moldova's road infrastructure is constantly being modernized. He expressed hope that the authorities will continue to increase their capacity to build high-quality roads and attract as many local companies as possible that are capable of doing so. “Pre-financing as part of continuing on the European path will enable us to accelerate infrastructure construction,” Dorin Recean said. According to a report presented by the National Roads Administration, in 2025, almost 2.7 billion lei were allocated for the maintenance and repair of public national roads. The amount of funds used for all works in the first half of 2025 exceeded 1 billion lei, which is about 37% of the total amount. The work was carried out by 12 specialized divisions of the Drumuri company. Among the measures implemented were: maintenance of national public roads in summer and winter, construction of passenger stops, roundabouts, intersections, and pedestrian crossings. At a meeting of the Road Fund Council, draft amendments to the Road Fund's 2025 program for the allocation of funds for national public roads were agreed upon. Resources will be reallocated taking into account available funds, savings, and spending priorities. In particular, the amount allocated for the maintenance of public national roads has been increased to 2.13 billion lei. Council members stressed the importance of timely tenders to ensure that all planned work is completed on schedule. Currently, the National Roads Administration manages 5,993.24 km of national roads, including 631 km of motorways, 2,011.6 km of republican roads, and 3,350.6 km of regional roads. // 18.09.2025 — InfoMarket.
