Switzerland will allocate CHF 3.92 million (over MDL 80 million) to improve integrity, transparency, and competitiveness in Moldova's business environment

Specifically, this is provided for in the Agreement on the implementation of the project “Strengthening trust, integrity, and compliance in and between SMEs and public sector in Moldova (STIC),” signed by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of Moldova and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the project will be implemented by 2028 and its main goal is to strengthen the integrity and compliance of small and medium-sized enterprises in Moldova, contributing to the creation of a more transparent, competitive, and sustainable business environment. The initiative, with a total budget of CHF 3.92 million (equivalent to over MDL 80 million), will support SMEs in the agricultural and construction sectors in applying simplified mechanisms for regulatory compliance and ensuring good faith. In addition, the document will contribute to reducing the bureaucratic burden and increasing the transparency of processes of interaction between the business environment and state institutions. The project aims to reduce corruption risks, increase the level of trust between the public and private sectors, and facilitate the transition of businesses from the informal to the formal economy. These measures will contribute to the development of a healthy, honest, and competitive business environment in Moldova. The STIC project is being implemented by GFA Consulting Group with the support of the Swiss government in partnership with national authorities. // 16.01.2026 — InfoMarket
