Financial education is coming to life in schools in Moldova thanks to the project “Economic and Entrepreneurial Education in Model Schools”, funded by maib

From Briceni to Cahul, financial education is taking on a new dimension in schools across the Republic of Moldova thanks to the project “Economic and Entrepreneurial Education in Model Schools”, supported by maib and carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research and the Public Association “Junior Achievement Moldova”, as the implementing partner.

We note that maib’s investment amounts to MDL 2 million, a budget allocated for printing the methodological financial/entrepreneurial education package for primary, middle, and high school levels, for the professional training of economic education teachers, as well as for supporting various competitions for students in the 35 model schools. The Model Schools Network is a strategic program of the Ministry of Education and Research, which aims to transform the selected schools into true examples of good practices, both through improved infrastructure and through modern teaching methods.

Starting this month, maib is hosting a series of interactive financial education lessons in various localities across the country, with the goal of developing critical thinking, entrepreneurial initiative, and financial skills among students. The activities will take place throughout the school year, supporting with practical examples and real experiences the knowledge students acquire in class during financial education lessons. The program is being implemented in 35 model schools in the Republic of Moldova, contributing to the formation of a new generation of informed young people prepared for the economic challenges of the future.

Moreover, within the program and also as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, on November 22, the first Innovation Camp event will be held in Edineț, bringing together at the “Mihai Eminescu” Lyceum around 203 students from 11 model schools in the northern region, with the jury set to evaluate the business ideas presented in the competition.
This initiative is in line with maib’s commitment to support sustainable projects with real impact in the community.
The project complements a wide range of educational initiatives supported by maib, such as Tekwill Junior Ambassadors, STEAM Challenge, ABC of Equality, partnerships with higher education institutions, and programs dedicated to developing the financial and digital skills of the new generation.

You drive. maib
