Moldova has received an invitation from the European Union to accede to the Convention on the simplification of formalities in trade in goods

The Moldovan Customs Service announced this, noting that the Council of the European Union announced on September 25 a decision inviting Moldova to accede to the Convention of 20 May 1987 on the simplification of formalities in trade in goods. The Customs Service emphasizes that this is a historic step for the CS of Moldova and the entire country, confirming its firm commitment to European integration and ongoing efforts to modernize and harmonize with EU standards. Starting November 1, Moldova will be able to become a party to this convention by depositing its instrument of accession with the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU. "This invitation represents European recognition of the Customs Service's transformation process. It is a moment of pride and responsibility, demonstrating that we can build a modern European customs service focused on trade facilitation. This is a success for the Customs Service team and a victory for all economic agents in Moldova," said Alexandru Iacub, Director of the Customs Service. According to him, by joining the Convention on the Simplification of Formalities in Trade in Goods, Moldova will facilitate faster, more transparent and competitive trade, strengthening its position on the economic map of Europe. //25.09.2025 – InfoMarket.
