35.17 million lei will be allocated for the repair of the access road to the Plaiul Fagului Nature Reserve, a tourist attraction in Radenii Vechi village
This is covered by a contract signed by the Regional Development Agency "Center," Ungheni District Council, and the Rutador company for the implementation of this project. It is being implemented by the Government of Moldova through the Regional Development Agency "Center," with financial support from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development and the participation of local authorities. The total contract value is 35.17 million lei. The work will be completed within 18 months, beginning from the date of the commencement order. The project envisages the reconstruction of approximately 3 km of road, 1.6 km of which runs through Radenii Vechi village, and 1.4 km connects the village exit with the entrance to the Plaiul Fagului Nature Reserve. The project also includes the modernization of relevant infrastructure elements, such as the installation of road signs and information boards, designed to facilitate tourist orientation and improve road safety. This project is part of a broader initiative to enhance and utilize the tourist heritage of the country's central region. By improving access roads, authorities aim to enhance the tourist appeal of one of the country's most important protected natural areas. The road upgrade will facilitate access for visitors, facilitate increased tourist flow, including from abroad, and stimulate the economic development of nearby communities by supporting local initiatives and tourism businesses. The Plaiul Fagului Nature Reserve is a key ecotourism destination in Moldova, and investments in access infrastructure are an important step toward integrating it into national and international tourism itineraries. // 10.04.2026 – InfoMarket.
