The first electric bus with dynamic charging has been produced in Moldova and it is planned to open an electric bus assembly plant.

The Moldovan company Informbusiness, at its production site in Magdacesti, presented its first electric bus, which can travel autonomously up to 70 km, after which it is charged from the trolleybus network or at special stations. The electric bus is equipped mainly with spare parts and equipment of local production, only some elements of the body are imported. A new type of vehicle of the “made in Moldova” category is being tested. At the same time, the company has already received a registration number in the international system - VIN-code, which is valid for all potential manufacturers. As Informbusiness director Vitalie Esanu noted, the electric bus will be able to travel not only to the suburbs of the country, but also along national routes. “We are testing electric buses that can reach speeds of up to 130 km/h and move autonomously up to 450 km. We have requests from a number of municipalities such as Soroca, Orhei, Comrat, Briceni. We are already working on a smaller and more economical electric bus,” said Vitalie Esanu. He spoke about the achievements of the company and the intention to further develop the business. For example, this year the company will supply the first 25 self-driving electric buses in Balti municipality. The company will also export them to Romania, Ukraine and other countries where there is a demand for this type of transport. In the long term, the founder of the company intends to build an electric bus assembly plant in the village of Truseni. The head of government and the ministers who were present at the demonstration of the Moldovan electric bus noted that the project is a start for the growth of the industry, expressing their readiness to support local producers. The expediency of promoting an environmentally friendly mode of transport was also emphasized, since about 35% of all energy in Moldova is consumed by the transport industry. Informbusiness was registered in 1992 in Chisinau. Since 2002, it has been developing and manufacturing modern electronic equipment for managing urban public transport. The company's products are exported to 170 cities around the world. The company employs 24 people. In 2022, Informbusiness's revenues amounted to 22.7 million lei (3.2 times less than a year earlier), while its net profit decreased by 5 times, amounting to 8 million lei. // 22.08.2023 — InfoMarket
