The National Financial Market Commission (CNPF) has warned citizens about a fraudulent scheme involving counterfeit documents from the agency
Specifically, CNPF is warning citizens about a fraudulent scheme being promoted on the Telegram platform, which uses a forged document presented as a decision by CNPF, in which the Commission allegedly authorized the StormGain-MD platform to operate as a provider in the virtual assets and crypto derivatives market. CNPF clarifies that it has not issued such a document, and the document available to the public is a forgery. The agency also notes that it currently lacks the legal authority to authorize activities involving virtual assets, and that Moldova does not yet have specific legislation governing virtual assets; the relevant regulatory framework is currently under development. CNPF recommends that citizens exercise caution regarding investment offers promoted online and verify the authenticity of the information provided, especially when it comes to licenses or permits issued by government agencies. Individuals who discover suspicious documents or have doubts about the legality of certain financial services are strongly encouraged to review the list of organizations authorized to provide financial services in Moldova, which is available on the CNPF website, or contact the Commission by phone at 022 85 95 95 or by email at office@cnpf.md. The list of organizations authorized by CNPF can be viewed at: https://tinyurl.com/2rarcntv. CNPF urges the public to obtain information only from official sources before making investment decisions and to be vigilant regarding offers promising quick profits or unrealistic financial returns. // 03.07.2026 – InfoMarket.
