CNPF launched a tool to identify former minority shareholders eligible for compensation from the Investor Compensation Fund
The National Financial Market Commission (CNPF) announced the launch of a module to identify former minority shareholders - individuals who participated in privatization in the 90s (through an investment fund that has completed the liquidation procedure or as shareholders of joint stock companies subject to a mandatory revocation procedure) and who are entitled to benefit from payments from the Investor Compensation Fund, if they have not previously received them. This measure is based on the implementation of an expanded framework for the administration of the sources of the Fund, which has been managed by CNPF since August 2023. The shareholder verification module is available on the NCFM website: https://www.cnpf.md/ro/shareholder_search. There, it is possible to search by at least 3 letters of the last name of a person who is a former minority shareholder of a joint stock company or investment fund. The Commission has also developed a guide on how to use this module. CNPF urges all former minority shareholders of the mentioned companies and investment funds that have completed the liquidation procedure to access the information and take the necessary steps to receive payments. The full list of participating joint stock companies and investment funds is available on the institution's website: https://tinyurl.com/376r8k6y. CNPF confirms the importance of following the legal procedure for requesting payments and invites all eligible former shareholders to find out how they can receive payments from the Investor Compensation Fund. Additional information on the procedure for requesting a payment from the Fund is available at https://www.cnpf.md/ro/fosti-actionari-6542.html. According to the commission, in 16 investment funds the process of distributing funds to shareholders has not yet started, as the liquidation procedure has not been finalized. Their list is available on the CNPF website. // 24.12.2024 - InfoMarket.
