The NBM will implement the best practices of the European Union in order to integrate the Moldovan capital market into the international financial flow - Anca Dragu

The President of the National Bank of Moldova stated this during her participation in a round table entitled "Capital without borders: Moldovan enterprises on the Bucharest Stock Exchange". This event, organized by the Investment Agency, brought together leaders and experts from the financial sector, representatives of government agencies and the business community. The event presented the prospects for the development of the capital market in Moldova and Romania, and discussed the process of listing Moldovan companies on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. As a speaker, Anca Dragu noted that the NBM's vision is aimed at implementing the best practices of the European Union in order to integrate the local market into the international financial flow. "The Moldovan capital market is at an early stage of development. This context, although challenging, offers favorable conditions for growth and achievements. In order to take advantage of this potential, effective implementation of reforms in this area is necessary," the head of the National Bank emphasized. Anca Dragu stated that companies and investors are showing interest in new instruments and sources of investment, and this is a positive signal. According to her, the issuance of municipal bonds in recent years, the issuance of bonds by a local bank, as well as the placement of instruments on foreign markets confirm the openness of Moldovan enterprises to new opportunities and there is fertile ground for the development of the capital market. In conclusion, the NBM President noted that the tasks of the National Bank of Moldova include: establishing links between the Single Central Depository and foreign depositories, as well as achieving a uniform regulatory regime in the field of settlements. Such an approach will allow Moldovan companies to gain direct access to foreign capital markets. // 20.11.2024 — InfoMarket
