Germany provides Moldova with a grant of 33 million euros to co-finance the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund

The German Embassy in Moldova said this. “The Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund, established by the Moldovan government, helps to support the population in times of crisis. With our contribution, we want to ensure affordable energy for vulnerable families and households, sending a clear signal of Germany's long-term and reliable support to the people of Moldova,” said German Ambassador to Moldova Margret Uebber. She said this new commitment continues Germany's support for the 2022-2023 winter season, when a grant from the German Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund helped 900 thousand (about 75%) households in Moldova with energy subsidies. “We are grateful to Germany for its continued support in helping Moldova address its current energy challenges. This 33 million euros grant will directly benefit our most vulnerable citizens by ensuring their access to basic energy services. Assistance through the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund ensures the protection of Moldovan families and advances our path to energy security and European integration. Germany's support is further proof of the strong partnership and solidarity between our peoples,” Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean said. According to the German Embassy in Chisinau, Germany's new commitment of 33 million euros complements the support package recently announced by the European Union, thus illustrating the joint assistance of the EU and its member states to the Moldovan people. // 28.02.2025 - InfoMarket
