The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) will hold from September 6 to 11 a competition to select participants in the 3rd edition of the “School of Modern Finance” program

According to the National Bank's message, the program is designed for master's and final year licentiate students at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) and is implemented by the NBM in cooperation with the National Bank of Romania (NBR) along with the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (ASE). “Financial education is an important step in this crucial period for the development and future of Moldova in its endeavor to reach a level equal to that of Europe. Professional training in the economic field and the involvement of young economists in the financial education of the population represent an important potential in achieving the well-being of the society,” said Anca Dragu, Governor of the National Bank of Moldova. The “School of Modern Finance” program is conducted in cooperation with the National Bank of Romania and the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and aims to contribute to the training of our economists. “Thorough financial education plays an important role in preparing young people to meet today's economic challenges, and involving students in the field of finance contributes significantly to the development of a new generation of competent and responsible professionals. This far-reaching project has been a remarkable success and we are pleased to continue the initiative,” said Mugur Isarescu, Governor of the National Bank of Romania. “The School of Modern Finance”, inaugurated last year, has generated interest and enthusiasm among future financiers from Moldova, offering them learning opportunities that surpass their experience so far. This year's program will take place from September 14 to 22, also in Romania. The educational program will be combined with a cultural and historical program planned in Iasi, Brasov, Suceava and Sinai. In Bucharest, the program participants will hold working meetings with representatives of the financial and banking sector in Romania, and will listen to presentations on the central bank, market operations, macroeconomic modeling and forecasts, monetary issues and other important topics. At the same time, they will visit the State Mint and the NBR Museum with an impressive exhibition of coins from antiquity to the present day. Following the events, the participants will receive a certificate signed by the Governors of NBM and NBR, as well as by the Rectors of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies. // 06.09.2024 - InfoMarket
