For the third year, 4 universities in Moldova have been recruiting students for specialties related to “professions of the future”
This year, the State University of Moldova (USM) has 32 places available on a “budget” basis and 220 on a contract basis for those wishing to study in the specialty “Multimedia Production” or “Game Design”. The cost of the contract this year is 13 thousand lei, and this is one of the most popular and expensive areas in this university (only education at the Faculty of Law is more expensive, where the cost of annual training on a contract is 15 thousand lei). Training is also possible in Russian. The Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts has opened 4 budget places for the specialty “Animation” (Romanian language of instruction), while contract training is possible - 14 thousand lei per year. At this university in other areas, the cost of training on a contract basis ranges from 10.6 thousand lei (cultural studies) to 45 thousand (symphony orchestra conductor) and 51.7 thousand lei (academic canto). The Technical University of Moldova offers 38 budget places for the entire design direction - game design, animation, interior design and industrial design also come here. The cost of training for the program “Game Design” and “Animation” is 15.5 thousand lei per year (only a contract in the specialty of architecture or interior design is more expensive - 19 thousand lei). Also, the directions “Animation” and “Game Design” are available at the I. Creangă State Pedagogical University, where 47 budget and 228 contract training places, including new professions, have been allocated for the entire direction of decorative and applied arts. Moreover, for these two training programs the most expensive contract at this university is 13 thousand lei. In all universities, to enter the “professions of the future,” applicants take a creative competition. Recall that new training programs (multimedia production, animation, game design) were developed and included in the training programs 3 years ago, and this academic year will be the first graduation of specialists trained in them. Graduates will be able to work in the gaming industry, animation, visual effects and sound design, as well as work in areas that require skills in modeling, programming, design and construction of interactive environments, multimedia production and communications, etc. Educational programs were developed within the framework of the Future Technologies in Moldova (FTA) project, which is funded by USAID, Sweden and the UK.// 29.07.2024 — InfoMarket
