In Moldova, some categories of the population may be required to be vaccinated against coronavirus.

Citizens whose professional activities involve direct contact with citizens may be required to be vaccinated against coronavirus. The issue was discussed at a meeting of the Prime Minister's Public Health Advisory Council. The topic of the meeting was to increase the coverage of the population with vaccinations and determine measures to manage the epidemiological situation caused by the spread of new strains of coronavirus. Currently, 9.1% of the population is fully vaccinated in the country, and 14.3% received only the first dose / component of the vaccine. At the same time, more than 80% of health workers were vaccinated from COVID-19. In total, about 65% of the vaccine was used out of 1 million 248.09 thousand doses received in Moldova. State Secretary of the Ministry of Health Igor Curov noted that the effect of vaccination is clearly positive, and immediately after the start of the campaign, the incidence among the medical staff decreased by 90%. The lowest level of vaccination among the population is still in Transnistria and ATU Gagauzia. During the meeting, the members of the Coordination Council examined the spread of new strains of coronavirus (Delta, Delta + and Lambda), which are much more aggressive than previous strains. Experts do not exclude the appearance in Moldova of new strains of COVID due to the growing waves of infection in the countries of the region. At the meeting, the importance of intensifying the process of immunization of the population was highlighted, including the possibility of introducing mandatory vaccination of certain professional categories, whose activities involve direct contact with citizens. Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi called on citizens to get vaccinated, as this is the only solution to overcome the pandemic crisis. Recall that the Moldovan authorities planned to vaccinate about 70% of the population by the end of this year. It is worth noting that Indonesia and Saudi Arabia have already announced universal compulsory vaccination of the population. Some countries have introduced or are planning to introduce compulsory vaccination for certain categories of the population or certain regions (India, China, Russia, Italy, Greece, Australia, Great Britain, France, etc.). In many countries, various restrictions are provided for the unvaccinated (for participation in various events, receiving medical care, visiting catering establishments, etc.), or a PCR test is requested.// 14.07.2021 — InfoMarket
